All across America people are recognizing a great emptiness in their lives. We hunger for community but are addicted to our screens. We call ourselves “spiritual without being religious” but that reduces our faith and morality to mere emotional moods.
At Mount Oak Fellowship we believe that coming together for corporate worship is a vitally important aspect of living a healthy human life. For this reason we offer two opportunities to worship God every Sunday morning, numerous small groups and a program for the whole family on Wednesday nights from September to May.
Each of our Sunday worship services provides a chance to express your faith through corporate praise and prayer plus an opportunity to hear a message from the Bible. Note: All of our sermons are available for download via i-Tunes (podcast – search for Mt. Oak UMC). Check out our media link on the menu bar for more information on our sermons.
Please feel free to join us for any of our services and to become a part of our worshipping community.
Traditional Worship Service (Sundays at 8:45 am in the Sanctuary)
Our early service begins at 8:45 am and is traditional and yet informal in style. We sing old hymns accompanied by the organ and piano and recite the historic creeds, but we are anything but stuffy. Our hope and prayer is that everyone can come as they are and be touched by the Holy Spirit.
Contemporary Worship Service (Sundays at 10:30 am in the Fellowship Hall)
Wednesdays in the Word
On Wednesday nights from September to May we offer a Christian program for the whole family. The evening begins with an inexpensive dinner ($6 per person or $20 per family) which is served from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. After that from 7:00 – 8:00 pm we offer faith-studies for all ages (children, middle school youth, high school youth, men and women). Finally, from 8:00 – 9:00 pm our sanctuary choir practices in the sanctuary (for details contact Linda Barnes at email@example.com).
Feel free to come out for one, two or even all three of these events. Wednesday nights at Mount Oak are intended to be a time of Christian fellowship and growth.
Kingdom Kids and Child Care
On Sunday mornings we offer children’s ministries and child care during our 10:30 am service. This includes an infant nursery, and a nursery for ages 2-3; both of which are available for the entire worship service. In addition to this we offer two classes of “Kingdom Kids” (ages 4-7 and 8-11). Children who attend “Kingdom Kids” are encouraged to worship with their parents for the first half of the service and then leave for their classes immediately before the sermon begins. Finally on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month we offer “Ignite”, a teaching time for middle school students which takes place during the sermon. (We encourage middle school youth to remain in church for the sermon on the other Sundays of the month.)
