It is often preached that because of Jesus, God will accept us as we are.
That much is largely true, but what comes next? We Christians obviously are not perfect, so does God expect us to change after we become a Christian? Or does the fact that he forgives us of our sins, mean that we are “good to go”, “as is”, the moment we are saved, and that God knows what he is getting when he accepts us?
If you never wrestle with questions like that, you really should. And when you wrestle with questions about what God is doing in your life, it might be helpful to ponder the idea that, even though we are forgiven and born anew in Christ… as followers of Jesus we still need to repent, probably more than once.
