America has spiritual amnesia. Our society is intentionally trying to forget about God and even many Christians have lost sight of what role God is supposed to play in their lives. To borrow from and adapt a phrase by C.S. Lewis; “In America today it is always Halloween and never Christmas.”
This week’s message from Pastor Barnes is a reminder that before there was trick or treating on “All Hallows’ Eve”, there was an “All Saint’s Day”, which celebrated the eternal nature of the church of Jesus Christ. Given this reality, Christians are forever challenged to live as men and women who are part of something that is greater than themselves.
So join us for worship and remember; however scary the world may try to make, “All Hallows’ Eve”, the followers of Christ are called to rejoice in our hope this weekend. And order of service with sermon notes and announcements may be found here.
